This is a circular version of barplot.

Warning!

This graph allows to understand how the coord_polar option of ggplot2 works. However, please note that this kind of representation is highly unadvisable. Indeed, as for a pieplot, it is quite hard to read the differences between groups. Please prefer a classic barplot. Read this articule from Visualising data to learn more about it.

Hi, thanks a lot for this great post! I am wondering if it would be possible to do this graph but leaving some “rows” in the center empty. I am using this to make a scatterplot, and then of course all the dots of my first cattegory fall in the middle. Thanks a lot!
