A donut chart is essentially a Pie Chart with an area of the center cut out. Thus, it has the same downsides than pie charts as explained in this blogpost. Even if reading the size

of doughnut segments is a bit easier than reading the angles of a pie chart, it is still hard to distinguish them if they are similar. Once more, it is probably a better idea to use a barplot

or a lollipop chart. If you decide to use it anyway, make in sort that your legends are directly place beside the segments. If you use percentages, double check that the sum is 100!
