A donut chart is essentially a Pie Chart with an area of the center cut out. However, it is much more appreciated on a data viz point of view, as explained in the dataviz catalog. Even if reading the size

of doughnut segments is way more insightful than reading the angles of a pie chart, it is still hard to distinguish them if they are similar. Once more, it is probably a better idea to use a barplot

or a lollipop chart. If you decide to use, make in sort that your legends are directly place beside the segments. If you use percentages, double check that the sum is 100!
